Calf & Thigh
Calf and thigh supports are commonly used in the physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation of calf and thigh muscle injuries such as sports hernia, hamstring strain, hip burstitis and more. A Neoprene support, with or without a Velcro strap helps injury prevention by providing warmth, support and compression to the injured area. This increases muscle temperature giving the muscle more extensibility and therefore less likely to pull.
A wraparound support or sleeve also increases blood flow to the calf region, which improves muscle function and speeds up healing if an injury has occurred. Calf and thigh strains occur frequently in sports that involve running and jumping. A calf and shin support can also help in cases on shin pain in runners. The shin splints support provides compression and support to the shin area and can help to provide pain relief in cases of medial tibial stress syndrome.
